Thanks! Back in '66, it seems to me they used to have the Santa Claus Lane Parade twice. The first go round a full blown thing for TV and then a few days later or so, a scaled down version. Also, back then, the parade terminated a block away from the apartment house where I was living. I think that's where some of these photos were taken. Another parade memory is jockeying with the gathered crowd on Hollywood Blvd. for a good spot on the sidewalk, or even better, on the street -- as long as you sat behind the yellow line! as parade flunkies were always cautioning people. Blankets and large pieces of cardboard would be spread in an effort to stake out space and make the cold concrete a bit more bearable. Do you remember the large block-like plastic Christmas trees that were attached to the light poles on Hollywood Blvd. for the Holidays? They actually used to rotate! Sort of. As years went by, they became more and more neglected and undependable, kind of teetering uncertainly as they turned. In the final years before they were replaced with more standard but less hazardous decorations, they seemed to threatened to tumble down on the tourists and shoppers below. As for my place, my memory is that my bedroom (which I shared with my mom) faced your house (as did the bathroom window) and that Kathy's room (which she shared with my grandmother) was on the other side of the hall from my room and situated more toward the back of the house. I mentioned to Kathy yesterday that we'd made contact again and that you were sending a video tape of your birthday party that she was in. She told me that if you'd like, you can drop her an e-mail at work at: kathy@normmarshall.com. I think she'd get a kick out of hearing from you. I see more photos have arrived, so I'm going to check them out. Jim
