The Music of Farby

by Jonah Begone

These YouTube links are Civil War reenactment parody recordings done by Tony "Farby" Heins between 1992 and 1996. I do not own these recording, and Farby has not given me permission to upload them! (I've tried various means to contact the guy for approval - none worked.) I don't even know him!

About twenty years ago I received these cassettes from somebody - I forget who - and have stored them all this time. Every now and then I considered uploading them to YouTube as an addition to my chronicle of the Civil War reenacting culture from the early Eighties to the early 2000's - but other things (parenthood, career) preoccupied my time. But now I'm retired!

Are they any good? Well, to fondly quote my deceased reenacting pal Rodger Petrocelli, "When I'm not listening to Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in C Minor Opus 67, I'm listening to them."

I upload Farby's songs to YouTube in the interests of preserving Civil War reenacting culture. If you are Farby and object to these recordings being available via the web, please contact me at jonah_begone@protonmail.com and I'll take them down.

Note: Some of the selections of this recording are unlistenable due to tape drag; they are decades old and Farby used cheap cassettes!
