Bladed Breastplates

A large number of officers went into the Thirty Years War in the belief that it would be over by Christmas 1618. At home their wives became more and more furious as the years passed by. By 1648 many officers simply could not face the anger of their spouses and returned home wearing Bladed Breastplates. These ensured that homecomings were brief and to the point and lengthy explanations superfluous.
