Notes

You can review the ride HERE.

(1) Nobody likes riding on the Beltway. Our jog from Patriot Harley-Davidson to Telegraph Road is meant to minimize that.

(2) The first couple of miles of the Indian Head Highway is kind of rough. Watch for potholes and pavement irregularities!

(3) We'll be riding past Rose Hill, "One of Charles County's finest examples of formal Georgian architecture, Rose Hill
is prominently located on high ground with an expansive view of the Port Tobacco valley below. The house was built c. 1784.
Rose Hill was the home of Dr. Gustavus Richard Brown (1747-1804) who was a physician and friend of George Washington as well as
an avid horticulturalist and landscape architect. Dr. Brown was called to Washington's deathbed at Mt. Vernon, Virginia,
to act as one of his medical advisors."

(4) We'll also be riding past Haberdeventure, the National Parks historic home of Thomas Stone,
a Maryland signer of the Declaration of Independence. The website that
explains him and this home is HERE.

(5) We'll be doing a little circle through the market square of Port Tobacco. Visit after lunch if you want.
It's worth a look around to read the plaques.

(6) We'll also be going up the hill to the St. Ignatius church, which is an historical Catholic parish located
on a nice, scenic hilltop with a good view of the Potomac. Read about this parish HERE.

(7) That marina we'll be having lunch at has a pleasant view of the Potomac.
